About Amanda
All services are also available via Telehealth.

The beginning of my career as a Marriage & Family Therapist was a result of my own experience in getting through unhealthy relationships, family dysfunction, food and weight issues, and learning what it was like to live a different way. My own positive experience in psychotherapy was a catalyst to my decision to go into this field of helping others.
My Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology was earned at California Lutheran University. Before that, I received a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics Education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
I have been working with clients to overcome various forms of trauma for well over a decade. I provide compassionate and collaborative care at your pace. I’ve been trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) through the EMDR Institute.
When someone has been through a trauma, the brain’s ability to process, for that moment, is lost; so the mind and body’s ability to integrate what happened is interrupted. EMDR helps to fix that. Your brain knows how to integrate these moments with help. EMDR is one of the tools I use to allow your brain to heal itself.
In my practice, I also use Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and other methods to help integrate your mind and body. Mindfulness and Meditation can calm our nervous systems and help our bodies release stress and help us relax.
Professional Organizations:
Valley Federation of Eating Disorder Professionals (VFED) – President
