Individual Therapy

Self-Doubt from Unanswered Questions

Have you ever felt like you’re not sure if you are an “ok” person? The stories you tell yourself may keep coming back to things you did in the past that either make you cringe or mad at yourself.

Talking in your head in a way that you would never talk to someone else casts a pall over your life.

You tell yourself why you will never really be successful – why you can never really have a good life because somehow you are broken, undeserving, or something is just wrong with you.

You think you are smart and have skills. But do you? Doubt causes you to ask, “If I am so capable, why am I not getting where I want to be?”

There must be a life not filled with self-criticism.

“No Shame – No Blame”

Many people know they need to seek therapy but are scared.

Feeling scared results from people in their past telling them why and how they are “no good.” And they are afraid the therapist will reinforce their worst fears about themselves.

Let me tell you right now; I will not do that. I’ve seen how often the shame we carry is “baked in,” and we are sometimes not even aware we have it. I will treat you with the respect you deserve, even if you don’t think you deserve it.

My office represents a zone lacking in shame and blame, so you can leave that feeling of being scared at the door.

Telling Your Story

You will guide our therapy sessions. We will start where you are. I’m interested in hearing your story because your reality matters.

Sometimes self-destructive habits result from living in a harsh reality. I will give you a safe space and give you the time you need to reveal yourself when you feel ready.

When behaviors feel like mistakes and maybe are mistakes, I’m interested in being curious about what was happening with you when the behaviors occurred, rather than judging you because it happened.

Your life – your way!

Some people think going to therapy is about learning how to do life better – we will explore how to do life in your individual, most authentic way.
